Background
The FBA Board meets quarterly in different places around the State, and always wants to meet up with local advocates when they're in town.  Their first quarterly meeting of 2016 is going to be held in Fort Myers, so BikeWalkLee is arranging for a "Meet and Greet" opportunity Friday evening Jan. 22nd at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, where their Board meeting will also be held on Sat. Jan. 23rd.

FBA's Executive Director, Becky Afonso, will be there, along with members of the FBA Board (click here for a list of officers and Board members: http://floridabicycle.org/board-staff/), to mingle with bike advocates in the BikeWalkLee network.

FBA Board meetings are open to the public, so if you're interested, plan to attend on Sat. Jan. 23rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. , also held at the Community Foundation (directions below).  In the afternoon (between 1-4 p.m.), representatives from the Sanibel Bicycle Club will be making a presentation about their bike safety education initiatives.  The presentation will include their creative and entertaining "Cycling on Sanibel" educational video designed to promote safer cycling on the island's Shared Use Path system and roadways, along with an extension of their bike safety education efforts by putting safe biking messages on electronic displays in island restaurants and businesses.  Feel free to attend this local project presentation.

Southwest Florida Community Foundation

Directions:  From McGregor, take College Parkway.  Turn at the first right on S. Pointe Blvd. (you'll see Burger King on right and McDonald's on left).  Take S. Pointe to Conference Drive.  You'll wind around series of office buildings until you see sign for SWFL Community Foundation (near intersection with Boardroom Circle).  Note--coming out of S. Pointe Blvd. when you leave, you can't easily turn left, so plan on going right and making a U-turn later up on College Parkway.
