Construction of Lee MPO's TIGER Grant Complete Streets Initiative well underway

The Lee MPO TIGER Complete Streets Initiative grant awarded in 2013, is finally beginning to take shape on the ground. If you've been biking, walking or driving in certain areas of the county you may have come across some of these new biking and walking facilities.  Overall, the project is adding 12.6 miles of new bike lanes, shared-use pathways and sidewalks to fill gaps in the county's bike/ped network, making it safer and more enjoyable for all users.

The Lee MPO has a webpage to provide information to the public about the project and its progress.  Now that several segments of the project have been completed or are nearing completion, narrative updates, complete with photos and project information for each of the three project segments have been posted on the website. Check out what's happening, bookmark this website, and provide us with your feedback (info@bikewalklee.org) about the new facilities you've noticed or experienced. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
