What: Public Meeting to discuss Bonita Springs Evaluation and Appraisal Report
Date: Thursday, Sept. 17th
Time: 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Where: Bonita Springs Fire Station #4
27701 Bonita Grande Dr.
Bonita Springs
Background
The City of Bonita Springs is in the process of completing its Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR). The EAR is required by state law every seven years. Its purpose is to evaluate how well the City’s comprehensive plan is performing. The EAR is intended to assess the progress of implementing the Comprehensive Plan, to respond to changes in state law, to reflect changing conditions and trends, and to identify “major issues” that have emerged since the last update of the Comprehensive Plan. Overall, the EAR evaluates the successes and shortcomings of the Comprehensive Plan and helps to identify needed amendments.
The EAR provides the opportunity for the public to identify needs for and concerns about the future and identify planning strategies to achieve that vision.
This is a great opportunity to provide feedback on your vision and suggest ideas to improve biking, walking, and transit. We think that the resulting EAR framework can and should emphasize livable, walkable, and bikeable neighborhoods that result from an integrated land use and transportation planning approach.
In addition to the Sept. 17th meeting, two future public meetings are scheduled:
- Tuesday, 10/6/15 5:30-7:00 pm - Bonita Springs Public Library
- Wednesday, 1/13/16 5:30-7:00 pm - Location TBD
