In brief: Transportation expo planned at library

The Northwest Regional Library, in partnership with Commuter Services, a program of the Florida Department of Transportation, is hosting a Transportation & Safety Expo that will run until April 27.The Transportation and Safety Expo will focus on all types of transportation topics and issues ranging from transportation planning, young drivers, transit and carpooling services, and road safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers.

“It is an excellent opportunity for those who have transportation questions to come and find the answers,” says Christine Diaz,program director, Commuter Services. “We want to help make folks’ commute and travels in Lee County less stressful, safer and cheaper.”

The library, as always, will have the featured exhibit available during open hours and also offer informative specialized programs.

The Northwest Regional Library is located at 519 Chiquita Blvd. N. in Cape Coral and is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-6 p.m.; Tuesday from noon-8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9-5 p.m. The library is closed Sundays.

The exhibit is available during all open hours and the interactive presentation dates and times can be found below. All programs are free and open to the public.

Get a free CarFit check up, where a team of trained technicians and/or health professionals work with each participant to ensure they “fit” their vehicle properly for maximum comfort and safety. A CarFit check takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
