Thanks for participating in Sunday's Streets Alive...and enjoy some of the photos and videos from BikeWalkLee's booth!

 Thanks to everyone who came to Sunday's Streets Alive event and stopped by to participate in BikeWalkLee's many public engagement activities.  We'll be compiling what we heard from you and sharing it in a future blog post, but for now, we wanted to share with you some of BikeWalkLee's photos and videos.

Thanks to everyone who attended and who volunteered at yesterday's Streets Alive! event.  The BikeWalkLee "booth" was a real hit.  Our booth provided an opportunity for participants to join the community conversation about making our neighborhoods more livable by sharing their thoughts through four activities--road words, pop-up City Hall, origins map, and your story video project.  Click here for the Oct. 11th blog post with details about each of these activities.

The Pop-up City Hall was popular (esp. with the kids!).  A special thanks to the Bicycle Ministry at the First Baptist Church of Fort Myers for constructing the city hall board.

 It was great to see the level of public interest and engagement in biking/walking/transit issues in our community. Our TIGER mascot (thank you, Kelly Bishop) did a great job of advertising BikeWalkLee's booth and sending participants to visit us to learn how the TIGER grant was going to improve biking and walking facilities.

Participants appreciated having the chance to talk to county staff about their questions and concerns (thank you, Don Scott and Andy Getch).  Thanks to Margaret Banyan's FGCU graduate students who ran the story video project.

BWL's Cindy Banyai will be taking all the input we received at yesterday's event and will make some sense of it, which we'll be sharing in blog posts, videos, reports, etc., so stay tuned!  (Thank you, Cindy.) 

 Thanks to the BWL team of Kate and Ken Gooderham, Dan Moser, and Ann Pierce who worked with the Healthy Lee Coalition for the past year to plan the county's first Streets Alive event.
