It’s not exactly the crisp and cool autumn of up north but the fact is that fall began Sept. 21 everywhere in the northern hemisphere, climate regions notwithstanding. The local running and walking season has officially begun as well. Not that our summer was devoid of organized events — each year more and more take place during a time of year that used to be almost barren of anything other than a few 2-mile fun runs. But anyone who runs or walks on a regular basis can attest to the unmistakable difference once the heat and humidity get back to something less than sauna-like.Many events for the upcoming season are confirmed, including some as far out as next spring. A few are part of larger happenings so you can make a day or night of it. Some of the events are:
