BPAC sends letter to County Commissioners in support of TIGER wayfinding project

Kudos to BPAC for its letter of support for the TIGER grant wayfinding project, currently under development by the Lee MPO.
Last month the County's Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee sent a letter to County Commissioners voicing its support for the TIGER grant wayfinding project.  The Committee's letter states: "We would like to express our support for the wayfinding project. We believe wayfinding signs will be an excellent advertising tool to educate citizens of our bicycle/pedestrian facilities, will encourage more people to use these facilities as intended, and will increase traffic to area parks and local businesses."

BPAC's letter also thanks the Board for increasing the budget for bike/ped retrofits to $2 million/year in the CIP budget for FY 2016/17-2020/21, as requested by the Committee in 2014.

Letters of support for the project were also sent in May by the Lee MPO Board's Executive Committee and FDOT District 1 Secretary.
