Action Alert: BoCC vote on impact fees delayed to March 12th

At the Feb. 12th BoCC meeting, commissioners postponed a decision on the proposed suspension of impact fees and asked staff to present additional information and options at the March 4th Management and Planning meeting, with a vote on an ordinance (based on direction from the March 4th meeting) scheduled March 12th.  Check out the County's new webpage on impact fees.  Much is at stake for advocates of complete streets and county taxpayers in this decision, so plan to share your views with commissioners at the March. 12th meeting or before.  There will be an opportunity for public comment beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the County Commission Chambers.

Since the Feb. 5th Newsletter, there have been several BoCC and committee meetings discussing this issue. At the request of Commissioner Kiker on Feb. 12th, the staff developed a new webpage on the county website re: impact fees.  Click here to see the background documents posted on this website, and check back for additional information, including the posting of staff answers to questions provided by BoCC and citizens on impact fee issues.  If you wish to be on the "interested parties" mailing list, submit your email address to impactfees@leegov.com
